Party Chairs – Mary Ayres Griggs & Jessica Brown – MA & Jessica reported: Mary Ayres and Jessica discussed the party set for May 11th. The location has been moved from the Allen’s field to the home of Gayle Alston because of the unpredictability of the weather. The party chairs thought it best not to risk it considering the propensity for bad weather during past parties. Both the Allens and Alstons were thanked for graciously offering to host. The ladies have reserved a tent and have gotten a few bids for the catering and will soon finalize those plans. A Sign Up genius email will be sent out in the coming weeks for volunteers for set-up, clean up, bar, etc. Please be on the lookout for it. It will most certainly be a splendid party!
Program – Andrew Crawford, Andrew T. Crawford Ironworks
Andrew was a delight! He brought an iPad with a slideshow presentation to show us images of his iron work, but realized, unfortunately, that there was no projection screen to hook it up to, so he instead passed it at the end for anyone who wanted to see his beautiful works. He explained how he got into the business, specific projects from the past, as well as the current ones. One of Andrew’s clients commissioned him to create something every year for the client’s wife as anniversary gift. She recently passed and this year Andrew was commissioned to do a piece for the outdoor visiting area at the Shepherd Center in her memory.
