1. WELCOME AND CALL TO ORDER:

Louise Moore called the meeting to order at 10:45am.

2. READING AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes were approved

3. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND MEMBER UPDATES

Nancy Willcox died. We are going to be using the Group Me app for correspondence, & to give quick & easy updates regarding Mimosa items. 3 people are being put up for membership in Mimosa. New members will come to May meeting. Only 2 Mimosa members went to the Flower Show….we need more to attend.

4. OFFICER REPORTS

President: Louise Moore

Past Presidents looked at the health of Mimosa and agreed on necessary adjustments to Bylaws.

Proposals for Approval:

  • Increase in fees except for Sustaining & Honorary members: $250 from $100.
  • $100 fee for dues paid past original deadline.
  • Attendance guideline for Associate, Professional and Sustaining Members:
    • Associate members: required to attend three (3) meetings each year versus the past standard of one (1).
    • Sustainers: required to attend one (1) mtg.
    • Professional members must be full members for 5 yrs. and attend five (5) out of eight (8) mtgs.
  • Requirements of new Members Elect and Active Members:
    • New members can’t apply for Professional status until they have completed five (5) years of active membership.
    • New members will pay an Initiation fee $500 paid over 2 yrs.
    • Attendance is required for a minimum of five (5) of eight (8) mtgs. $25 fine for each additional mtg missed.
    • After 2 yrs you host a meeting every 2 years.
  • 2nd VP Speech School: Parker Tekin

Work day at Speech School on April 15.

3rd VP quarry garden: Shannan Hill

Shannan gave the update. They want us to reschedule our workday. We will try & do this in May.

5. COMMITTEE REPORTS

State Garden Club Liaison:

Need more Mimosa members to show up to Flower Show.

Parliamentarian:

See above for new rules for the club.

6. Unfinished or New Business

Spring Party at Abby & Matt Echols house. Need members to help with flowers before the party. Also, members bring dessert on a silver tray to party to help.

7. Adjournment

Meeting adjourned at 12:10pm.
