VP, Alden Potts- From speech school- new furniture is great and they are loving the garden. Cathedral Giving by Design to benefit The Global Village Project which supports schooling of refugee children in Atlanta. We will be doing flowers for the event along side Abby Echols
Treasurer- Margret is cash balance $26,103- We make two gifts a year to Quarry Garden and Speech School
Nell Mitchell- work day at quarry next month. Upcoming Meetings at Coach house, Chastain horse park, Speech School and Botanical Gardens
Molly- membership and dues are due by December 1st. Can pay thru Venmo or square or mail check and online. Venmo is @mimosagardenclub- click on charities option when using Venmo, will be $103 with fees or $100 by check
Jennifer Hill- hostess calendar up on website tomorrow
Esther- state garden club rep. Article on Ofeefenokee in the Gardening Club of GA publication- $ raised has been sufficient to quell the current threat. Thanks to members for participation.
Amaryllis Project:
Mary Mac- Contest for prettiest amaryllis blooms. Order by mid October- sign up going around. Cost likely $1-$15 per bulb.
Louise- Encouraging members to participate in the decorating of Oakland Cemetery for the holidays
This year flower show and party are the same year. New members are responsible for one arrangement and the chapter has agreed to one more- the event is at the Botanical gardens and there is a 60’s theme. Abby Echols is hosting the Mimosa Party this year.
Dogwood District- every 6 years is an event- we are helping- October 21st at PRUMC. We are responsible for 15-20 centerpieces. 2 smaller garden clubs are assisting us. Alden will send sign up for it. We also are responsible for a $50 basket for the event. Set up at 8AM and event is at 12- all are welcome.
Michelle Mitchell
Nancy Mitchell’s mother and Nell Mitchell’s mother-in-law, Michelle Mitchell, 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 22, 2025. A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Cathedral at 10AM on Friday, October 3, 2025. Read her obituary here.

Sadly, Jean Glenn has passed away. She passed peacefully with her family September 20, 2025. A private graveside service was held Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Her obituary is available here.
